There is already a massive Twitter thread, so forgive, this is going to be redundant: people who don’t need to look for jobs (who have $500 to burn on this shoe) probably don’t need to make a “great impression”. Poor people on the other hand, don’t have a choice but to wear a shoe like this, even if they are trying to get a job or look “put together”.  One person’s pain is another person’s leisure. Capitalism at it finest.
